The Elizabeth Freeman Center (EFC) has a secure, home-like Domestic Violence Emergency Shelter available for adults and their children who are fleeing abuse and seeking safety from violent and life-threatening domestic violence situations. If the shelter is full, EFC will find another emergency shelter until an appropriate plan is developed.
For those who have been assaulted, an EFC staff member is available to talk, or to come with you, to the hospital or police station if you choose; call the EFC 24/7 Hotline at (866) 401-2425 and ask a physical responder to meet you. No están solos. Llámenos.
EFC has offices in North Adams, Great Barrington and Pittsfield, and staff in the Pittsfield Police Department, the Adams Police Department, and Berkshire County Kids’ Place. The EFC staff goes to other shelters and can meet people in safe locations almost anywhere in Berkshire County.
