The Montachusett Opportunity Council's (MOC) Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is a national, IRS sponsored program in which IRS certified volunteers prepare and process tax returns for free for individuals and families whose income falls within the program guidelines. The returns are e-filed for quick refunds. Volunteer tax preparers are trained to find tax credits for which many low- to moderate-income families are eligible such as the Earned Income Credit, the Child Care Credit, the Education Credit, and the Circuit Breaker Credit for senior tax payers.
IMPORTANT INFO: VITA 2021 Tax Season Appointments
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program once again offers free tax return preparation for those earning less than $57,000 a year. All appointments will be virtual only. Taxpayers must request an appointment by completing our VITA Registration Form and uploading all required documents. Appointments will be scheduled only after we review your documents. You must have the ability to conduct a Zoom video conference call on a computer or a smart phone.
