Successful adults start as successful youth. The Montachusett Opportunity Council’s (MOC) Youth Services helps build the skills to succeed, by offering:
- Homework Help Center - Promoting academic achievement of at-risk youth by providing a safe environment where youth have access to homework assistance and the opportunity to participate in organized, educational and recreational activities.
- Summer Camp - Runs for six weeks, providing educational and recreational activities to youth. Youth work on summer reading assignments and MCAS prep, do hands-on activities with nature and science, learn about important concepts such as nutrition and recycling, and participate in recreational activities like basketball, swimming, and arts and crafts.
- Jobs4Youth- Assists eligible youth ages 14 through 19 in finding and maintaining paid summer employment in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Jobs typically last four to six weeks in July and August. Youth also receive workshops throughout the summer on topics such as workplace ethics, managing workplace stress, and budgeting and spending.
