    WIC is a nutrition program that provides healthy foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support and referrals to healthcare and other services free of charge to qualified Massachusetts families. WIC serves low- to moderate-income people in critical stages of growth and development. WIC offers:

    • Personalized nutrition education and counseling, including breastfeeding support
    • WIC card to redeem at participating grocery stores and pharmacies for nutritious foods and infant formula/baby foods
    • Referrals to other healthcare and social service agencies
    For WIC appointments, please call first before coming in to the office as WIC staff is now completing appointments over the phone. For appointments in Holyoke call 534-2460, in Chicopee call 612-0214, in Westfield call 568-1007, and in Ludlow call 589-1551.

    Eligibility: WIC Eligibility: Must reside in Massachusetts. Household income at or below 185% of the federal poverty level. A woman who is pregnant or breastfeeding. Parent, grandparent, foster parent or other legal guardian of a child under five years of age. If you receive Traditional Aid to Families with Dependent Children (TAFDC), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or MassHealth (Medicaid), you are automatically income eligible. Foster children under age 5 are automatically eligible.
