The Financial Counseling Program provides services in response to debt collectors, credit repair issues, and/or budgeting support. One-on-one sessions are customized to meet participants' individual needs and to help navigate financial challenges with tools to reach financial stability. Topics include budgeting, credit repair, establishing savings goals, understanding credit, student loan support, debt management, and home ownership preparation. Participants are screened over the phone for income eligibility before scheduling an appointment. All appointments are currently being held virtually. Save Up Summer is a new Money Matters program that helps participants build strong savings habits and offers individual support and education to improve financial well-being. Participants will engage in one-on-one financial counseling, participate in group workshops, and create a savings goal. At the end of the program, participants receive $400 deposited into their savings account as an incentive for reaching their goal. The 2022 applications have been filled.
