Community Action Pioneer Valley offers free Energy Efficiency Programs for your home through the energy efficiency and weatherization programs. These programs are funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and your utility company in order to help make your home more energy efficient and reduce your energy costs.
The Energy Efficiency audits are in-home audits, which include replacing old light bulbs with LED’s and possible replacement of inefficient appliances such as, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, refrigerators or freezers and also washing machines with Energy Star models (existing appliances are replaced based on energy efficiency and utility company guidelines).
The Weatherization audits, are also in-home audits, which include free major improvements, such as attic and wall insulation, air sealing, and other energy-saving measures.
Also, in some emergency heat situations (and when funding is available), homeowners may be eligible for free heat repair/replacement to repair (in some cases replace) your primary heating system.
