The Community Resources and Advocacy (CR&A) Program provides a range of direct client services to help people with low-income access the resources they need. Financial assistance may be available through CR&A for qualified households who need help paying for rent, heat, metered utilities, and move-in expenses. CR&A's Resource Advocates can help clients access SNAP benefits and health insurance (MassHealth & ConnectorCare) through advocacy, education and application assistance. CR&A can also help connect to additional resources.
Due to COVID-19, all appointments and applications are done by phone. Office hours are from 8:30am - 4:30pm, by appointment only. Eligibility: CR&A services are available to households living in Franklin County, Hampshire County and the North Quabbin Region. Health Insurance assistance is provided to households with gross income below 400% FPL where household members are younger than 64-1/2 years old. SNAP assistance is provided to households of any age with gross incomes below 200% FPL. Financial assistance services are provided to households of any age who are income-eligible and are able to provide proof of income as well as other documents. Exact requirements for documentation and availablity of funds vary depending on resources at the time of application. Please call to discuss eligibility with a Resource Advocate.
