The Franklin County Regional Housing and Redevelopment Authority (FCRHRA) owns and manages 27 State-aided family housing units, ranging in size from 2 to 4 bedrooms, with laundry hook-ups in each unit, some yard space, and parking.
These state aided public housing units are for families and located throughout Franklin County, including the towns of Bernardston, Buckland, Charlemont, Northfield, and Orange. All properties are owned or managed by the FCRHRA, and are non-smoking. Each property is located within reasonable proximity to stores, transportation, places of worship, and other public facilities. A 24-hour emergency on-call property management and maintenance service number is also available.
These site-based housing properties are available with subsidies provided by the Mass. Chapter 705 Family Housing regulations, available to income-eligible families. Seniors and Persons with Disabilities have public housing options available under Chapter 667 (see program listed in Look4Help, "Public Housing for Seniors and Persons with Disabilities").
