The Hampshire County Resource Center works with homeless and other individuals by assisting with job search, housing search and referrals, accessing mental health (basic mental health counseling), substance abuse services and other needs. This location is also a Homeless Drop in Center providing case management for those on the waiting list for the shelter or those in the shelter, while providing a space to warm up and socialize.
People can go to the centers during the day to pick up water or a cup of coffee, and to use the computers and phones for their job and housing searches. We offer one-on-one support and guidance to individuals who wish to set and attain a variety of goals—from securing employment, to achieving sobriety, finding a mental health counselor, signing up for food stamps or social security benefits, or renewing IDs. We also provide a fixed address which people can use to receive their mail.
In addition, our comprehensive housing search services address issues which may prevent people from finding a home. Through our follow-up program, we help individuals keep their housing after they have moved out of the shelters.
