Shelter programs provide critical support and stability for homeless families. The Center for Human Development (CHD) operates Jessie's House, a 24 hour family homeless shelter housing up to 6 families, or pregnant women. At Jessie's House, meal preparation and housekeeping are shared and provided by the guests, and outreach services continue after families have left. Length of stay is 90 days or longer. Applicants must be referred through Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD).

- Financial planning and budgeting to pay existing bills and save for new housing.
- Follow-up for six months to assist families in maintaining self sufficiency.
